This versatile weekly Bible study program has versions for adults and young adults. It also has family devotionals, specific programs for Advent and Lent, and a wealth of other resources that are reasonably priced. There are Come, Lord Jesus! small groups that meet all over the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This monthly subscription provides not only the readings of the day, but good Scriptural reflections.
*Threshold Bible Study : Stephen Binz [Twenty-Third Publications]
The author of this series is based out of Baton Rouge, so may be available for outreach and assistance in facilitation.
*Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible : Jeff Cavins and Sarah Christmeyer [Ascension Press]
This eight-part study (30-minute sessions) provides an easy introduction to better understanding the Bible.
Walking with Purpose, Scripture Study for Women
The key always for Scripture study/formation and AFF (adult faith formation) is in the planning, implementation, follow through, etc., so that it is not simply “done” episodically or occasionally. A coordinated, comprehensive approach to AFF is necessary, which should be organized by a good, diverse team in order to know the different needs of the people in your parish.
