Dr. Courtney Millet Named St. Charles Catholic High School Principal

NEW ORLEANS, La. - New Orleans Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond and Catholic Schools Superintendent Dr. RaeNell Houston have announced that Dr. Courtney Millet will return to St. Charles Catholic High School as the new principal for the 2019-2020 school year. Dr. Millet will officially assume the role of principal on July 1, 2019 with the retirement of longtime, dedicated principal, Mr. Drew Cupit.
 
Dr. Millet graduated from St. Charles Catholic High School in 1984.  Following her graduation, she attended and graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  She received a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership as well as a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Millet has proven to be a talented administrator and advocate for young people.
 
Dr. Millet has strong connections to St. Charles Catholic. Besides having worked at the school previously, both she and her husband, as well as her two sons are graduates of the school.
“My Catholic faith is the lens that foundationally guides my thinking and practice,” said Millet.   “I am excited to return to St. Charles Catholic as its principal and spiritual leader with a great sense of enthusiasm, commitment, faith, and purpose.”
In making this announcement, Archbishop Aymond and Dr. Houston extend their gratitude to Mr. Cupit for his decades of service to St. Charles Catholic. He is an example of the person who sees Catholic education as a ministry, and the archbishop, superintendent, and St. Charles Catholic High School community are grateful for his service.
